Stan Laundon worked at BBC Radio Teesside/Cleveland from 1970 to the mid-90s. His site is a wealth of knowledge if you love Teesside and surrounding areas. There is a history of BBC Local Radio on his site and take a look at the 'Bands' page, it's quite amazing what you'll find.
Brian Anderson has been there and done it! From Radio Caroline to setting up Moray Firth Radio to living and working in China, Kosovo, and Kabul amongst others, his story is quite amazing. People on Teesside will remember him from Radio Tees and 'Tees Rock' and 'Natural Mass.'
He should write a book
I used to listen to John Simons on Radio Tees growing up. He's gone on to work at the BBC, set up and run the Century and Real Radio Brands, was in charge of Talk Radio, LBC and won every award going. Pleased to be able to call him a friend as he now travels the world spreading the 'Simo' message
Graham Robb is one of the reasons I got into radio. He was a presenter at Radio Tees and BBC Radio Cleveland. Now a highly-respected businessman, he heads up the team at Recognition PR with an impressive client list
Barry Michaels has been on American radio for over 40 years and worked in major markets and nationally too. I first heard him as the voice of Radio Tees in the 1980s. He's a brilliant talent, legend, friend and currently morning drive on US 102.3 'The Crossroads of Country and Rock' in Ocala, Central Florida.
We were once rivals on the North East airwaves, today - really good friends. Paul is a master at publicity and events. Great to have him back on
BBC Radio Tees at the weekend too.
Former ITV 'Gladiator' and presenter, Diane Youdale has been a great friend for a number of years. Take a look at her website and also Jet Loves for complete well being. We are going to be working together on a number of interviews with eminent minds in the fields of psycology, nutrition, fitness and planet science to Jet Blast your health in 2018. Keep watching!
The Stations You Should Be Listening To
On the West Coast of America....one of the greatest ever. This legendary station has been keeping Southern California entertained for decades.
And on the East Coast of America..... the legendary Scott Shannon wakes up New York City
I've always been a Soul/Jazz fan and this station on the Emerald Coast in Florida (where else) is great to unwind too.
From Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California, this is an eclectic station.
The Anorak Area
World famous jingles from Dallas, Texas. If you like listening to radio, you'll have certainly heard them. From BBC Radio 1 to TFM, BBC Radio 2 to
Z100, New York.
They are legendary. Anoraks on and zipped up to have a look around
Great custom imaging from Seattle. They have done some great stuff for
LBC Radio in London and the Heart UK network
A brilliant site if you used to love listening to Radio 1. Loads of memories of The Happy Sound.....
